Frequently asked questions about merino wool
This is the manufacturer's commercial description of the weight of the fabric used in grams per square meter and has nothing to do with the actual weight of the finished item. The following applies: the higher the number, the heavier and thicker the merino fabric. Commercial weight classes are 120, 150, 200, 260/270 and 320 grams. The lower weight classes between 120 and 150 are lighter and not as thick, which is why they are more suitable for summer. With 200 grams, the merino wool has an all-round quality and is therefore suitable for the whole year. Weight classes beyond that are thick and heavy and therefore perfect for use in winter at low temperatures.
